About the Founders

EZHI was founded by Dr. Madge Zacharias and Ray Easterling in 2002.  Dr. Zacharias, a Richmond native and Pediatrician, left a busy and rewarding private practice in 2000 to specialize in weight management and preventive health.  Ray Easterling, a former free safety for the Atlanta Falcons, obtained his BS in Business from the University of Richmond.  An entrepreneur, athlete, and businessman, Mr. Easterling brought his strong business, marketing and training background to the development of ZGHI.  Their unique background and strengths combined with their shared passion for creating a business dedicated towards creating solutions in the preventive health field led them to develop the Institute as a leader in weight management and preventive health.

Today ZGHI is owned and operated by Dr. Madge Zacharias.
