Profile of the Month
April
2008,
John Bucher
To all EZ member
profile followers, I apologize for dropping the
ball the last 2 months. It definitely does not
mean we have run out of stories. There are
literally hundreds to tell. For April I have
chosen John Bucher’s story, as told by John
himself in a letter to Madge. John has been a
very a conscientious weight management program
member and has also been very successful in
continuation. To date, he has gone from a 44 to
a 39 pants waist and has lost over 30 lbs.
Congratulations John!! --mjg
John’s April letter
to Madge below sums up his EZ progress:
Dear Madge,
My wife and I made a New
Years resolution that 2008 would be the year we
did something to improve our overall health. We
joined the MIP program in January not really
sure of what we would accomplish.
I started out weighing 272
pounds, was taking five different medicines for
Gout, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure and
a heart efficiency rating of 35%. In addition, I
was not getting a lot of rest (regardless of the
amount of sleep), was generally tired and
listless and in a constant state of physical
pain.
As of this date, April 8,
2008 (13 weeks into the MIP program), I’ve lost
20 pounds, have been taken off of the medicine
for Gout, had the medicine for High Cholesterol
cut in half and had one medicine for High Blood
Pressure cut in half. My heart efficiency rating
has risen to 59%. I’m sleeping less but resting
more and my energy level has increased
considerably. Now the only pain I seem to be
experiencing is from using muscles that I forgot
that I had.
I
realize that some of the credit for my physical
and medical improvements goes to my wife and me
for having made the decision to do something and
then doing it, but you, your staff and the MIP
program, have given the process definition and
structure. Your lectures have provided a wealth
of information of why things happen and why your
program works. By educating us, and applying
that knowledge to our exercise curriculums, we
have learned to set realistic goals and then go
after them. Your collective and individual
experiences, training and knowledge allow you
and your staff to relate to and address the
issues confronting us as individuals. It’s
obvious to all of us in the program that you not
only believe in what you teach, but that you
also live by what you teach.
I
can’t say enough about how much the MIP program
has improved our lives and I commend the EZ
Health Institute for the job it does and would
recommend it to anyone who is serious about
losing weight and improving not only their
medical health but their mental health as well.
I have enclosed before and
current pictures of me to illustrate my
progress. This is only the beginning. My goal is
to lose another 40 – 50 pounds and be medicine
free.
John Bucher
John loves being outdoors
and is very active in his community. Though he
is a full time employee for Affiliated Computer
Services, he manages to take time to help others
through his charitable endeavors. Occasionally,
he uses his own vacation and personal time to
volunteer as a driver for Shriner Children’s
Hospital where he has been known to take these
patients as far as Greenville, NC for necessary
care. That’s over 400 miles one way!! In
addition, John is an active member of the
Shriner Chanters and sings in their chorus. Most
recently his group sang for the Masonic Memorial
Service. A lover of “show tunes” John will be
adding a new Broadway influence in our cardio
workouts as he has promised to bring me a
Broadway musical CD for these workouts. So watch
out classmates….get ready to sing “Some
Enchanted Evening” while you sweat!
